Introduction

Vertex Face Lab ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application Vertex Face Lab (the "App").

Information We Collect

TrueDepth Camera and Face Data

Vertex Face Lab uses the Apple TrueDepth camera and ARKit framework to provide real-time facial tracking for exercise guidance. When you use our facial tracking features, we process the following data locally on your device:

Blend Shape Coefficients: Numerical values (0.0 to 1.0) representing 52 facial muscle positions
Head Pose Data: Pitch, roll, and yaw angles indicating head orientation
Face Mesh Geometry: 1,220 vertex positions for rendering visual overlays

Important: We do NOT capture photographs, images, face prints, or biometric identifiers. All face data consists of numerical coefficients processed locally on your device by Apple's ARKit framework.

TrueDepth Camera Usage: Data from the TrueDepth camera is used solely to provide real-time facial exercise feedback. This data is processed entirely on your device, is never transmitted off-device, is not stored persistently, and is not used for facial recognition, authentication, or any form of user identification.

Other Information

Progress Photos: Stored locally in your device's photo library only
Session Data: Exercise records stored locally on your device
Analytics: Anonymized usage statistics (never includes face data)

How We Use Your Information

Facial tracking data is used exclusively for:

Real-time exercise guidance and feedback
Calculating posture symmetry and alignment metrics
Rendering mesh visualizations during sessions
Displaying real-time metrics to help you improve

We do NOT use face data for:

Facial recognition or identification
Creating biometric profiles or templates
Authentication or security purposes
Advertising, marketing, or user targeting
Training machine learning models

Data Storage and Retention

Face Data Retention: ZERO

Face data is NOT stored. It is:

Processed in real-time during active camera sessions only
Held only in volatile device memory
Never written to disk or persistent storage
Immediately discarded when tracking stops or app closes
Not recoverable after the session ends

We do not store any user data in the cloud. All data remains on your device.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do NOT share, sell, rent, or transmit your facial tracking data to any third parties. All facial processing occurs locally on your device. No face data ever leaves your device.

Third-Party Services

Apple ARKit: Face tracking processed on-device only
RevenueCat: Subscription management (receives transaction data only, never face data)

Your Rights

You can revoke camera access anytime in Settings. To delete local data, use "Reset All Progress" in app Settings or reinstall the app.

Children's Privacy

Vertex Face Lab is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
